Suzumiya Haruhi no Gyakuten 2 1 Boxart

Suzumiya Haruhi no Gyakuten 2+1 (涼宮ハルヒの逆転2+1, The Turnabout of Haruhi Suzumiya 2+1)
is a Japanese doujin game made by CUBETYPE and released in 2007. It is a sequel to their previous title, Suzumiya Haruhi no Gyakuten. The gameplay is based on the Ace Attorney series . There was a sequel, Suzumiya Haruhi no Gyakuten 3, released in 2008. As the name implies, this game came packaged with all the cases from the first game as well.

GameplayEdit

The game is split up into three cases, each with its own storyline and scenario. The concept is that various characters have been put on trial for crimes they claim they are innocent of. You play Haruhi, as she defends them.

The cases are split up into two phases. The investigation phases, where the player explores the school as Kyon, talking with other characters and gathering evidence, and the trial phases, where the player must defend their client in court as Haruhi.

While in court, Haruhi will need to cross-examine witnesses. This is done by pressing statements to gain more information and presenting evidence that contradicts their testimony. The player has a limited number of chances, and if they present the wrong evidence too many times, they lose and their client is pronounced guilty.

StoryEdit

The game features cameos a small handful of cameos. Karin Sasamori and Tamaki Kousaka from ToHeart2 appear alongside Krauser and Souchi Negishi from Detroit Metal City. The first case also features a Detroit Metal City music CD as a piece of evidence.

Haruhi, Koizumi, and Ms. Mori all return to reprise their respective roles of defense attorney, prosecutor, and judge, but this game introduces a new foe, Emiri Kimidori.

Emiri Kimidori mirrors Franziska von Karma's prosecuting style

Emiri serves as a new prosecutor in the game, and her prosecuting style (along with whip) mirrors that of Franziska von Karma from the Ace Attorney games.
